About the Jailbar
Ford redesigned its truck grille in 1942 with a flat, vertical-bar "waterfall" pattern that collectors nicknamed the "jailbar" grille for its resemblance to prison bars. The basic body carried through with few changes after World War II production resumed, remaining in production through 1947.
