About the M26 Pershing
The M26 Pershing was a U.S. Army heavy tank named for General of the Armies John J. Pershing. Developed as a successor to the M4 Sherman, its prolonged development meant only a small number reached Europe before the end of World War II in 1945; it later saw more extensive combat use during the Korean War.
