About the book
The 1973 Yom Kippur War reshaped the tactics of modern armored warfare when Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) tank crews met an Arab enemy equipped with Soviet-supplied AT-3 Sagger (9M14 Malyutka) anti-tank missiles. The book explains how small Arab tank-killing teams used the Sagger to destroy Israeli armor at a high rate, examines the U.S.-built M60A1 that had to counter it, and shows how the IDF, fighting in both the Sinai and the Golan Heights, learned that combined firepower and infantry/artillery cooperation were key to survival.
