About the Educational Series
The 1890s Educational Series of $1, $2, and $5 Silver Certificates is widely regarded among collectors for its ornate, neoclassical allegorical artwork. The $2 note's obverse motif represents "Science presenting Steam and Electricity to Commerce and Manufacture," and it is the only U.S. currency note to feature two presidents, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, alongside a reverse depicting the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
