About Joseph Brant
Educated at Moor's Charity School for Indians (later Dartmouth College), Joseph Brant rose to prominence as a Mohawk and Iroquois leader allied with the British during the Revolutionary War. The figure depicts him circa 1776, wearing a ruffled linen shirt, silver arm bands, a trade blanket, red leggings with beaded garters, moccasins and a feathered headdress, and carrying a tomahawk.
