About Colonel Prescott
Leading a mostly inexperienced force against a much larger British army at Bunker Hill, Prescott's men twice repelled British assaults before being forced to retreat on the third, with Prescott among the last to leave the redoubt, defending himself with his sword. He survived the battle and went on to further Revolutionary War service, living until 1795. This biography traces his life and argues for restoring his prominence in the history of the battle and the Revolutionary era.
