About the DUKW
Built on the GMC CCKW chassis with a welded, ribbed amphibious hull, the DUKW was designed to move troops and cargo from ship to shore, carrying either a 2,400 kg payload or 25 fully equipped troops. It was used extensively by U.S. and Allied forces, including at the Normandy, Salerno, and Anzio landings and across the Pacific.
