About the Fokker D.VII
Introduced in 1918, the Fokker D.VII quickly proved formidable in combat on the Western Front and could dive without the structural failures that plagued earlier German fighters. More than 3,000 were built in the war's final year, and surviving aircraft were seized by the Allies under the terms of the Armistice. Göring's own D.VII was finished in an all-white scheme reflecting his command of JG I.
