About the Nashorn
The Nashorn ("rhinoceros") combined the 8.8cm gun with the mobility of the Pzkpfw IV medium tank chassis, and fewer than 500 were built. Issued to specially created heavy anti-tank battalions, it first saw action during Operation Citadel around Kursk in mid-1943, where its gun and optics let it engage Soviet tanks at long range. Examples also served in Italy and on the Western Front. The book uses contemporary photographs and colour and monochrome illustrations to cover the vehicle's service history, along with available model kits and aftermarket products for builders.
