About the Campaign
As raids threatened American settlements in Kentucky, frontiersmen including Daniel Boone and Simon Kenton joined an expedition of about 970 Kentucky militia led by Colonel George Rogers Clark into present-day Ohio to strike the Native American towns of Chalawgatha and Peckuwe. On August 8, 1780, Clark's force engaged roughly 450 Native American warriors under leaders including Black Hoof and Simon Girty at the Battle of Peckuwe, described by the publisher as the largest Revolutionary War battle fought on the Ohio River frontier.
