The S-3B Viking was a carrier-based jet developed for the United States Navy, designed primarily for anti-submarine warfare during the Cold War. Built by Lockheed, it featured twin engines, a high-mounted wing, and advanced sensors for detecting and tracking enemy submarines. The S-3B variant improved upon earlier models with upgraded avionics, radar, and the ability to carry a wider range of weapons, including torpedoes, depth charges, and missiles.
