About the Draken
First flown in 1955, the double-delta-wing Draken was among the first fully supersonic combat aircraft deployed in Western Europe, capable of reaching Mach 2 and suited to short takeoffs and landings from Sweden's dispersed airstrips. It served as Sweden's primary interceptor into the 1990s and was also exported to Finland and Austria.
