Used briefly at the end of World War II the M26 Pershing — a heavy tank named after General John Pershing of the Great War — is most famous for its role in Korea. In an effort to match the firepower of the King Tiger's 88mm KwK 43 weapon a handful of Super Pershings were sent into service in the final stages of World War II — equipped with a higher-capacity T15E1 gun.
