About the U-2S Dragon Lady
Originally developed in the 1950s during the Cold War, the U-2 has been continually upgraded, with the U-2S representing the most advanced variant. Powered by a single General Electric F118 engine, it operates at altitudes above 70,000 feet, well beyond the reach of most threats, and its long, glider-like wings support long-duration reconnaissance missions gathering imagery and signals intelligence for U.S. and allied forces.
