The crew of the resilient warship fought from Alaska's Aleutian Islands to Tokyo Bay surviving enemy artillery bombs and kamikaze attacks and even collisions with other American warships. In 1945 Tennessee took part in the famous Battle of Surigao Strait the last battleship-versus-battleship combat in history.
