The F-4 Phantom II is a versatile twin-engine tandem-seat fighter developed by McDonnell Douglas for the U.S. military. Steve Ritchie and Chuck DeBellevue were two of the most successful American fighter pilots during the Vietnam War both becoming Triple Nickel aces. DeBellevue Ritchie's radar intercept officer also became an ace scoring six aerial victories. Together they played a pivotal role in U.S. air combat demonstrating outstanding teamwork and skill in dogfights. Their heroics helped solidify their places as key figures in the history of modern air warfare.
