About the Corsair
The Corsair fought against the full array of Japanese aircraft used in the Pacific theater. After the war, many Corsairs were set aside for eventual replacement by jet aircraft, but more than a hundred were reactivated at the outbreak of the Korean War in 1950, where the type again proved rugged and reliable.
