About the Fiat G.91
Designed by engineer Giuseppe Gabrielli, the G.91 combined swept wings and compact dimensions for strong maneuverability, and its performance won a NATO competition for an easily produced, versatile tactical support aircraft. It served with the Italian Air Force as well as Germany and Portugal; the G.91R attack variant carried four 12.7mm machine guns in the nose and up to 700kg of underwing ordnance.
