Product Highlights
Grumman's final piston-engined fighter the F8F Bearcat was designed during World War II and delivered in February of 1945 though fighting was over before it saw combat service. More than 1200 were produced though by the time it was active jet technology had largely surpassed the capabilities of the piston engine-driven fighters. The Bearcar was used primarily by the U.S. Navy and Marines though a number of international militaries also utilized its services. It was retired in 1963.
