About the Sd.Kfz. 232
The Sd.Kfz. 232 heavy armored car was fielded by the Wehrmacht from the mid-1930s for reconnaissance and radio communication duties in support of fast-moving "blitzkrieg" operations, using a large frame antenna (later a vertical antenna) to maintain contact between commanders and troops in the field.
