About the T-38 Talon

Developed by Northrop in the late 1950s, the T-38 Talon was the first supersonic trainer aircraft and remains in service with the U.S. Air Force and other air forces today. Powered by two J85 turbojet engines and capable of Mach 1.2, it offers tandem-seat instruction that simulates the performance of operational fighters, training generations of pilots who went on to fly aircraft such as the F-16 and F-22.
