About the T-38 Talon
Developed by Northrop in the late 1950s, the T-38 Talon was the first supersonic trainer aircraft and remains in U.S. Air Force service today. Powered by twin J85 turbojet engines with a top speed of Mach 1.2, it has trained generations of pilots headed for high-performance aircraft such as the F-16 and F-22.
