About the Doolittle Raid
On April 18, 1942, Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle and his co-pilot, Lt. Richard Cole, led one of sixteen B-25 Mitchell bombers launched from the USS Hornet to attack factories, refineries, and dockyards in Japan — one of the most important American missions of World War II.
